La Wawa — Transit Demand Platform
A waitlist platform that captured 100,000+ user entries to map transit demand and generate optimized bus routes across Latin America.
Overview
La Wawa was a startup tackling urban transit in Latin America. The hypothesis: by collecting location data from users waiting for better transit options, you could map where demand was highest and generate smarter routes before laying a single track.
As CTO and Tech Lead, I owned the full technical vision — from architecture to product roadmap.
What I Built
A waitlist application that let users sign up and share their origin/destination. The system aggregated this data geographically, clustering demand hotspots and feeding them into a route-optimization algorithm. Output: proposed transit corridors ranked by demand density.
Built the full stack: React Native mobile app, Next.js marketing site, Express API, and MongoDB data layer. Integrated Maps API for real-time location capture and demand visualization.
